Burgess Falls Kayaking Trip

We host a couple of member paddles to Burgess Falls throughout the year. We currently don’t have any planned. If you’re interested in paddling Burgess Falls and are looking for an outfitter, please check out our friends Cumberland Kayak & Adventure Company!

Join us for an approximately 4-mile out-and-back paddle to Burgess Falls.

Park in the parking lot at Cane Hollow Recreation Area at the end of Cane Hollow Road (36.0328, -85.6214). Please plan to arrive 15-20 minutes before departure time. We’ll launch from Cane Hollow Recreation Area and paddle up Center Hill Lake to the base of Burgess Falls. We’ll pass by Cane Creek and start near the falls. Once we arrive at the falls, we’ll enjoy some time to swim and take a break for snacks before returning to Cane Hollow Recreation Area.

Kayakers may bring their own kayak. Kayaks can also be rented through our partners, Cumberland Kayak & Adventure Company. Kayak rentals can be booked here.

Please bring a lifejacket (lifejackets will be provided with rentals), water shoes for walking around near the waterfall, water, sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses. Also, consider bringing snacks.

Note: Occasionally, it’s possible to kayak all the way to the base of the falls. Sometimes in summer, the water level starts to drop and you may need to beach your kayak and walk to the falls at the end of the paddle.
