TENNGREEN NAMED ONE OF NASHVILLE’S BEST PLACES TO WORK

Nashville Business Journal (NBJ) has named TennGreen Land Conservancy a 2021 ‘Best Places to Work’ honoree!

This annual award recognizes companies in Middle Tennessee that strive to maintain a work-life balance, have fun, and have a great team mentality.

“We’re thrilled to be an honoree of this year’s Best Places to Work award,” said Steve Law, Executive Director of TennGreen Land Conservancy. “We love and appreciate our hardworking team, and try our best to create a work environment that’s supportive and enjoyable for everyone.”

‘Best Places to Work’ nominations were accepted from the public, and employees were asked to complete an online survey conducted by Quantum Workplace. The employee survey measures six key engagement categories, including trust in leaders, communication and resources, individual needs, personal engagement, team dynamics and manager effectiveness. Responses from each question of each completed survey are compiled and evaluated. Companies are ranked and winners are chosen in each size category by their composite score.

“2020 presented many challenges, but it also offered opportunities for us to reflect, improve, and find new ways to connect with our team,” said Alice Hudson Pell, Associate Director of TennGreen Land Conservancy. “A creative way we stayed connected was to offer a space for celebration during our bi-weekly staff meetings that we call “Best Thing.” Each staff member has an opportunity to report on the best thing that has happened to them, professionally or personally, since the last meeting. These might include going viral on TikTok, receiving a major land donation, or finishing a major grant application! We also established the Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee to take a broad approach to understanding the organization’s and sector’s barriers to inclusivity to ensure that all our members, future members, employees, and future employees are welcomed and supported.

TennGreen Land Conservancy, and the other winning companies and organizations, will be honored at a virtual event hosted by NBJ in May 2021.
