Maria Maring is the Land Conservation Coordinator for TennGreen Land Conservancy. In this role, she spearheads conservation outreach efforts and helps educate landowners on their conservation options. Maria was born and raised in Southern Illinois—home of the Shawnee National Forest—with an inherent love for all land, water, and air. Maria graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in May 2022 with degrees in environmental sustainability and Spanish. She also received a minor in natural resources conservation and a certificate in environmental writing. In her free time, Maria enjoys all things outdoors: hiking, backpacking, camping, biking, gardening, and more! But what brings Maria the most joy is spending time with her cat, Rubus.
