When?
November 7, 2026
9:00 AM – 11:30 AM CT
Where?
Belle Forest Cave & Arboretum
7087 Hwy 70 S, Nashville, TN 37221
Join us as we remove non-native plant species from TennGreen’s Belle Forest Cave & Arboretum. An invasive species is a plant, insect, or animal that establishes substantial populations outside its natural range. These invasives outcompete native species for resources, causing a serious imbalance in the ecosystem. It is imperative to remove invasives to best support Tennessee’s native biodiversity.
Volunteers will use shovels, loppers, and weed wrenches to manually remove invasive plants. Gloves and all necessary tools will be provided. Prior invasive species management is not required. This event is intended for everyone: first-timers, amateurs, and experts! We will provide you with all the knowledge and tools you need to succeed. Closed-toed shoes are required. Please bring your own water bottle; we will not provide plastic bottles, but will have a water cooler to refill your containers. Light snacks will also be available.
Due to limited parking at the work site, volunteers will meet TennGreen staff at Kroger in Bellevue Plaza (7087 Hwy 70 S, Nashville, TN 37221), and we will carpool to our location, which is a 2-minute drive. Upon signing up, you will receive a copy of our Volunteer Handbook and Volunteer Agreement & Release Form via email.
