Join us to remove invasive plants around Harmony Wildlife Rehabilitation Center!
At this event, we will mainly remove young tree shoots of the invasive ailanthus (aka tree-of-heaven) that have begun to sprout over the last few months. Most of them can be easily removed by hand, but there may be some instances where tools are needed.
Gloves and all necessary tools will be provided. Prior invasive species management is not required.
This event is intended for everyone: first-timers, amateurs, and experts! We will provide you with all the knowledge and tools you need to succeed. Closed-toed shoes are required, and volunteers are encouraged to wear pants.
The work area is primarily shaded. Please bring your own water bottle. We will not provide plastic bottles, but there will be a water cooler to refill your containers. Light snacks will also be available.
Upon signing up for this event, a TennGreen representative will contact you to provide a copy of our Volunteer Handbook, liability waiver, and the exact address to Harmony.
ABOUT THE LAND
In June 2023, TennGreen joined with Harmony to
place a conservation easement on their property in West Nashville. The conservation easement forever protects Harmony’s lands and enables the nonprofit to continue its critical work of helping Tennessee’s native wildlife.
