Thanks to our members, friends, and partners, 2024 was another incredible year for TennGreen Land Conservancy. As 2025 begins, your generous support is helping to protect land across Tennessee where people and nature can thrive. We cannot thank you enough for your passion, generosity, and support. Protecting our state’s irreplaceable wild spaces isn’t possible without you.
From all of us at TennGreen, thank you.
Here are just a few of our successes in late 2024 leading into this new year.
Landowner Allen Patton has permanently protected 50 acres of globally unique cedar glade habitat in Rutherford County.
Called Rockdale Cedar Glades & Woodlands, Patton’s land contains limestone cedar glades and barrens and is located within two critical watersheds (Spring Creek HUC 12 Watershed and the Stones River Upper HUC 12 Watershed). Seven rare species have been recorded within one mile of the property, including limestone fameflower, Tennessee milkvetch, glade cleft phlox, and the gray bat.
The land abuts Lamar Cedar Glades & Woodlands, another property protected by a conservation easement held by TennGreen. Together, these two conservation easements increase this connected corridor of protected land to an expansive 256 acres.
